The itinerary

    Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our experienced team. After a brief introduction, we will escort you to your hotel, where you can unwind and prepare for the adventure ahead. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu. You may choose to wander through the bustling streets, visit local markets, or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of this cultural capital. The day provides the perfect opportunity to get accustomed to the local environment, as you prepare to embark on the trekking journey.

    Day 2

    Kathmandu Sightseeing and Preparation

    After a restful night, the day begins with a guided tour of Kathmandu, giving you a chance to explore some of the most famous and sacred cultural landmarks. You will visit Pashupatinath, one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world, where the sacred cremation ghats along the river offer insight into the deeply spiritual traditions of the city. Next, you will head to Boudhanath, a massive stupa and pilgrimage site, revered by Buddhists from all over the world. Afterward, the tour will take you to the Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with ancient palaces and temples showcasing the intricacies of Newar architecture. In the afternoon, we will conduct a pre-expedition briefing to discuss the trek details, safety protocols, and the itinerary, followed by a gear check to ensure that all equipment is ready for the days ahead.

    Day 3

    Fly to Lukla, Trek to Paiya

    The adventure begins in earnest with a morning flight to Lukla, a small mountain airstrip located in the heart of the Khumbu region. The flight itself is a thrilling experience, offering spectacular aerial views of the towering peaks and deep valleys that define the landscape. Upon arrival in Lukla, your trek begins as you head towards Paiya or Panggom, a scenic village nestled in a lush landscape. The trek today will be relatively short, allowing you to gradually adjust to the trekking pace and enjoy the vibrant green forests, terraced fields, and local Sherpa villages that dot the route. This day’s hike sets the tone for the rest of the trek, as you begin to immerse yourself in the beauty and serenity of the Himalayan foothills.

    Day 4

    Trek to Panggom to Nigmsa

    The journey continues as you trek from Paiya or Panggom to Nigmsa. Today’s route will take you through dense forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine, providing a tranquil atmosphere and an opportunity to witness the rich flora and fauna of the region. As you walk along the trails, you will pass through traditional Sherpa villages, where you may encounter friendly locals tending to their daily routines. The terrain becomes steeper as you ascend, and the views of the surrounding mountains and valleys become even more impressive. Nigmsa, a peaceful village perched in the hills, will be your resting point for the night, offering a great opportunity to soak in the surrounding beauty.

    Day 5

    Trek to Khote

    From Nigmsa, you will continue your trek towards Khote, a picturesque village located along the Dudh Koshi River. The path today follows a steady ascent, allowing you to slowly adapt to the altitude while being treated to stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. As you walk, you’ll pass through more villages, where you can observe the daily lives of the Sherpa people, known for their warm hospitality. The tranquil atmosphere of Khote, nestled amid towering mountains and surrounded by forests, provides the perfect setting for a restful night, allowing you to recharge for the more challenging days ahead.

    Day 6

    Acclimatization in Khote

    To help your body adjust to the increasing altitude, you will spend today acclimatizing in Khote. Acclimatization is a crucial part of any high-altitude trek, and this day allows you to adapt to the environment while minimizing the risk of altitude sickness. You will go on a short hike around Khote, exploring nearby trails and enjoying the panoramic views of the Dudh Koshi River and the towering peaks that surround you. In the afternoon, you can relax, hydrate, and prepare for the next phase of the trek, which will take you to higher altitudes.

    Day 7

    Trek to Tangnang

    With a day of acclimatization behind you, it’s time to trek towards Tangnang (or Tagnag), a small village situated in a stunning alpine environment. As you climb steadily, the landscape gradually changes, with sparse vegetation giving way to rugged terrain, glaciers, and alpine meadows. You’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including the towering peaks of the Khumbu region. Tangnang offers a perfect vantage point to admire the glacial views and prepare for the higher altitudes that await. The evening in Tangnang will provide you with a chance to rest, reflect on the journey so far, and mentally prepare for the next steps of the trek.

    Day 8

    Trek to Khare

    The trek today takes you from Tangnang to Khare, the base camp for Mera Peak. The terrain becomes more challenging as you cross rocky moraines and navigate higher-altitude terrain. As you ascend, the landscape becomes more desolate, with glaciers, ice fields, and snow-capped peaks dominating the views. The stunning beauty of the area, combined with the physical effort of the trek, will leave you in awe of the rugged wilderness of the region. Upon reaching Khare, you will be greeted by awe-inspiring views of Mera Peak and the surrounding mountains, setting the stage for your summit attempt in the days to come.

    Day 9

    Acclimatization in Khare

    Today is another acclimatization day in Khare, allowing your body to adjust to the high altitude. The altitude at Khare is already over 4,000 meters, and further acclimatization is essential to prevent altitude sickness. You will go on a short hike to higher elevations to further acclimatize and review basic climbing techniques that will be useful for the summit. You will also have time to rest and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding peaks, helping to build excitement for the challenging days ahead.

    Day 10

    Preparation Day

    This day is dedicated to preparing for the summit of Mera Peak. You will receive a detailed briefing on the climbing techniques and equipment required for the summit push. Rest is emphasized to ensure that you are fully recuperated and ready for the demanding ascent. Your guides will conduct a final check of all climbing gear, ensuring that everything is in perfect condition for the summit day. The day will also be an opportunity to mentally prepare, with advice and tips on how to handle the physical and mental challenges of summit day.

    Day 11

    Move to Mera High Camp

    After all the preparation, you will trek to Mera High Camp, the launching point for the summit push. The journey to High Camp is steep and strenuous, with rocky terrain and snowfields. As you ascend, the views become more dramatic, with the surrounding glaciers and peaks creating a mesmerizing backdrop. Upon reaching Mera High Camp, you will settle into your tents and rest. The high-altitude camp provides a stunning vantage point to enjoy the grandeur of the surrounding Himalayas, while you rest and conserve energy for the early morning summit attempt.

    Day 12

    Summit Day - Mera Peak (6,476m)

    Summit day begins early, as you prepare to ascend Mera Peak, standing at an impressive 6,476 meters. The climb is physically demanding, requiring careful navigation of snow and ice-covered terrain. Under the guidance of your experienced climbing guides, you will make your way to the summit, step by step, navigating glaciers and technical terrain. The final push to the top is both challenging and exhilarating, as you reach the summit of Mera Peak and are rewarded with panoramic views of some of the highest mountains in the world, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. After taking in the breathtaking views and celebrating your success, you will descend back to Mera High Camp, where you can rest and reflect on your achievement.

    Day 13

    Contingency Day

    A contingency day is reserved in case of adverse weather conditions, additional acclimatization needs, or delays in reaching the summit. This flexibility ensures that the expedition remains safe and achievable, allowing for unexpected circumstances to be managed without compromising the overall success of the trek.

    Day 14

    Descend to Khare

    After the summit climb, you will begin the descent back to Khare. The descent is easier and faster, giving you a chance to reflect on your summit success. As you return to Khare, the atmosphere is filled with a sense of accomplishment, and you will have time to celebrate your achievement with fellow trekkers and guides.

    Day 15

    Trek back to Lukla

    The final stretch of the trek takes you back to Lukla, retracing your steps through Tangnang, Khote, and Paiya (or Panggom). The journey back is relatively easy and allows you to savor the beautiful surroundings one last time before concluding your expedition. Upon arrival in Lukla, you can relax and reflect on the incredible journey you’ve just completed.

    Day 16

    Fly Back to Kathmandu

    From Lukla, you will take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu, where you will arrive after an unforgettable adventure in the Himalayas. The flight offers a final chance to enjoy the stunning mountain views from above. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will have time to rest and enjoy the comforts of the city once again.

    Day 17

    Departure

    On your final day in Nepal, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. Depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to explore the city one last time or shop for souvenirs. You will leave Nepal with a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing that you’ve conquered one of the most beautiful and challenging trekking peaks in the world.
